Evaluating Collections
We're often asked how much we offer for used items. It depends on 3 things:
1
What is it?
The artist, album, and genre all matter. Rare pressings of popular albums or sought-after heavy metal records typically command higher prices than common releases.
2
What condition is it in?
Mint and near-mint records fetch top dollar, while worn or damaged items may have little to no value. We carefully inspect for scratches, warping, and wear & tear.
3
How many do we have?
If we already have multiple copies of an album, we may offer less or pass entirely. Market demand and our current stock levels directly impact what we can pay.
What To Expect
1
Call Ahead
Always contact us before visiting to confirm the owner is available. For larger collections, dropping off items may be necessary to ensure a thorough evaluation.
2
Respect Store Operations
We appreciate your understanding that immediate evaluation might not be possible during busy periods. Your flexibility helps us provide the best service.
3
Fair Pricing
Our products are priced to sell, so we offer a very fair price that still allows us to make a profit when we resell. We're told that we give the best prices when purchasing used inventory. Stop by and see for yourself!
4
Realistic Expectations
We are not an online seller. When we buy collections, it may be quite a while before we sell them in our store. Do not base your expectations on what you might see on eBay. There is no regulation on those prices, and they are often inflated.
